Where can I get some beneficial bacteria...?

What about 'BacterLife'? It should help.

Bacterlife is a blend of those essential nitrifying and sludge digesting bacteria which are vital in all filtration systems. These helpful bacteria aid the breakdown of fish waste, uneaten food and plant debris and help to render them harmless.

Does BacterLife need refrigeration or have an expration date? If not, its probably worthless, just like cycle is.

is it not possible to use something like stresscoat??

No, it is not possible. Have you read the pinned thread(s) on cycling? Stress Coat will neutralize the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate in the water... therefore, it will not allow the tank to cycle.

Its true that stresscoat will not help you cycle. Bio Spira is the only product that will and availability is a problem if you live outside the US.

Beg/buy mature filter material from a healthy tank at your LFS. One near me actually makes them for sale as bio-balls.

As a side note, stresscoat does not neutralise ammonia, nitrites or nitrates. It is a dechlorinator containing aloe vera to keep the fish's slime coat healthy. While it will not help cycle a tank it (or a similar product) is essential to any tank with fish.

Well, noone I know has a fishtank....literally NOT ONE.

So I guess i'll try begging the lfs, or BUYING some.

I want to get ti cycled asap.

The best thing to do is be patient.

People rushing fish into tanks is probably one of the most common causes of fish death.

Take it nice an easy and you'll see the benefits long term.

Yes i agree well said.
