Where can I get one of these guys? They are so cool! I just need a few things, I'm researching, but I also want to know if anyone owns them and has any tips. Other wise, I need the following:
-pH levels
-tank sizes
-breeding notes
-anything helpful

Thank you!

they are colder water fish (like 70 or so degrees) and like a lot of current.

the most common fish sold as a borneo sucker (amoungst its' many common names)
is Beaufortia kweichowensis however ther are many species under the Gastromyzon
taxa too. try this site for info
http://www.loaches.com/species_index.html

as a general rule they are found in mountain streams that are very fast flowing and all hillstream loaches are sub-tropical fish.

Hillstream loaches, (man these things have a lot of common names), are not tropical and require very high O2 levels. They rarely live long in a regular tank. Most people who keep them have long shallow tanks with one or more powerheads at one end drawing water through large diameter pipes laid under the substrate from the other end so there is always a strong current.

The substrate should be coarse and have numerous large flat stones on it.

These are really a specialist fish.
