When Will My Guppy Give Birth?

She is being followed around by the displaying male, and he is pecking her rear. She looks like a balloon from in front and has kind of 'squared off' I think. How long til she gives birth?

only females have the black spots at the end of thier bellies. when this gets noticably darker and bigger she has babies inside of her. guppies take 28 days ish to give birth and usually when they are ready to give birth they will be very still. either hiding away somewhere or just barely moving. usually youd expect them to hide in the top corners of tanks. butif you have plants such as cabombas it may be an ideal cover for them. if i was you i would get yourself a breeding trap! guppies can also give birth twice from the same encounter as they can have 2 sets of fry from the same male and encounter. also 28 days later. hope this helps.

How long do you tink it will be before she gives birth? Her Gravid spot is very dark.

She's definitely big but doesn't look too square in the first pic. I would say maybe another week or so. My female was huge, the front dropped right down.


Here is a pic of my female a week before she dropped.

Then her shape changed and this is what she looked like a few days before dropping.

I've finally realisd wheat the gravid spot is lol kept thinking it was something else and here's a short vid of one of my now 4 preg females this one is doing as said above hiding a lot

I am afraid that the main female in your video is no closer than a week away from her next drop. I never use color because it always fools me. Instead I use shape. That female is rather large but has yet to square off much.
For Sam, use just the first part that ends with 7759.mp4 and it takes you right to the post.
