I know that this is a real newbie question but when should I introduce fish to my aquarium? It's a 60 litre aquarium.

I've only had it for a week, I've tested twice and today's results were

PH 7.6
Ammonia between 0.25 and 0.50
Nitrite 0.25
Nitrate 0ppm

I haven't added anything to the water apart from some food, Strees Coat and Stress Zyme on day 1 and some further Stress Zyme on day 7.

I feel as though I'm caught between two stools here, as I'm neither fish cycling nor fishless cycling.

What would be my best course of action? Is ammonia (for fishless cycling) easily available in the UK?

Any advice greatly received

Thanks
VFB

Most people would recommend you do a fishless cycle. As you seem to have heard of it I'm sure you know the benefits already so I won't bother repeating them all! It seems ammonia isn't _as_ readily available in UK as in america but if you're willing to look around a few hardware stores I'm sure you'll find some. :) where do you live?

I live in Gravesend (as stated in my profile!!!) Have you been able to get ammonia readily in the Leeds area? If so where did you get it from?

oh dear :*) now i have to confess that I "borrowed" my ammonia from my mum's workplace.

however I saw some in a place called Jack's Hardware, it was Jeyes Kleen Off brand I think and this is the brand that other members of the forum have found in the UK. If you have trouble finding some you could try phoning Jeyes and asking them where the nearest stockist to you is. i think Jack's is just a local store.
