When To Add Fish Again

My current fish isn't doing to well even after rounds of treatment for Dropsy. When he passes how long should I generally wait before adding any new fish to the 5gal tank? Also, should i clean out the gravil and start fresh bare?

What do you mean by starting "fresh and bare?"? Do you mean clean out the tank entirely, fill it back up and add fish? If you do that, you'll have to cycle your tank first.

IMO (just my opinion) I would do like a 75% water change after he dies and then get new fish.

Also, what new fish are you getting?

5 gallon tank? I'd hope that you are looking at getting a betta.
