..... It's actually bad!

Why is it, when something happens in your tank, like white spot, fin rot or an algae problem. You burst you bend over backwards or bust your hump to get it sorted, which is good. Time progresses and you physically see your fish and tank getting better.

Then your tank is awesome again. Fish all healthy, eating, swimming and playing hide 'n' seek. Water stats brilliant. Weekly tidy up of the tank with daily admiration.

Then BANG!!!! a dead fish. For no apparent reason. Just a dead fish.

1of my baby sevs kicked the bucket last night and from what I can tell, everything is fine and has been. I done my Sunday clean up of the tank, quick water check and it was all good?

Kinda annoying when that happens.

Sorry for the rant.

Not all fry are biologically capable of survival, and actually humans under the age of 2 have either the highest or second highest mortality rate of any age group.

Maybe it only seemed to recover but was actually too weakened by the outbreak of Ich

Unfortunately I'd agree.  Sometimes a certain animal was never capable of survival.  It's one the main reasons fish have so many eggs.  I've seen reptiles born that just refuse to eat period.

Take it on the chin and mush on.  Dedication is probably the best tool you appear to have :)

Yip, thinking along these lines myself. I had an infestation of fin rot and white spot a couple of months ago thanks to a questionable fish from a questionable shop (and a questionable person who made the purchase... Me) and it spread through my tank like under water wild fire. But after 2 weeks of mayhem, I got it all under control, all fish happy healthy fish again. Then a few months down the line, this.
