Huh tough to say, but number one is probably The Avengers movie. After long, long time Lord of the Rings trilogy was droped from the ''pole''.

Jaws (a bit cheesy, but when I first saw it as a boy, was afraid of the swimming pool.)

Mother Night
I must agree that The Seven Samurai is an epic film.
Snatch is a great film as well, showed it to my girlfriend at the time, her mother, and her mother's boyfriend. They didn't understand it.
