Hi everyone,
I wonder if any of you can give me some advice as to what and how often I should feed my Bettas. First a little info:
I have 3 Betta Splendens, 2 female and 1 male. The male is in a breeding tank, as I'm currently trying to breed him. Yesterday I used a Toms Hatch'n'Feeder and fed the male quite a lot of Brine Shrimp. He loved them and just hung out right in front of the exit on the hatchery and ate them as soon as any appeared.
I used a bulb syringe and fed some to my 2 females too, one is in a bowl and the other is in a 30 gal. tank (that is going to be my Killie tank once I raise some). I took out the hatchery today, because you're supposed to clean it before using it again and I wanted the male Betta to concentrate on building a bubble nest.
For food I have a microworm culture growing very well. And a few different pellet types of dry Betta food, some Wardley tropical flakes, and I'm expecting more B.B.S. eggs in the mail soon.
Now my questions are this:
1) How often should I feed them the microworms?
2) How often should I feed them the Brine shrimp?
3) When should I feed the dry food and when/if should I feed them the inside of a defrosted pea?
4) When I do have fry, how often and what should I feed them?
Sorry for all of the questions, it is just difficult to know the answers, since so many people have different opinions. I thought I would try asking here, where there are experienced Betta breeders/raisers.
One of my female Bettas is ready to spawn, so I'd like to keep her happy and healthy until the male has his bubble nest ready.
Thanks for any help!
I'll post photos in a while of my Betta setup.
