I wonder why livebearers are so low on the list? They are probably the most popular fish in the hobby! Guppies have the most color (and variety) of any tropical fish!!!!!

Cichlids have more to offer then any other group of fish.

-they come in lots of unique colors,markings, and body shapes
-they range from as tiny as half an inch to as big as two feet long
-they display the most unique diversity of breeding and parenting behavior
-they range from super easy to keep for beginners to quite tough to keep for pros
-they never stop - they are all action
-there are cichlids for every aquarium environment - rocky, planted, open water, etc.
