Looks like dirt in the container. Use a cotton swab to see if it wipes up. It should be fine to use but if you are concerned, then take it back and swap it for another bottle.

Maybe contact the company that makes it and let them know too. They might need to clean the pipes in their manufacturing plant.

It's normal, mine always has that. Its why they tell you to shake it vigorously before using it. Even long after opening the "stuff" settles and you have to shake it til your arm almost drops off. You'll find that quite a few conditioners etc have specks in them, not just Prime.

Its alien eggs. Their secret ingredient 😅

Strange. Mine hasn't ever had black specks. Seems like they would tell you on the packaging that it's normal. They do bother to say that the sulfur smell is normal on the packaging. Do the black specks dissolve when you shake it?

I don't need it right away Im still using up my other water conditioner but, I dont think it would be easy to exchange bec I got It as a guest with a same day delivery at petco, and put the email typed wrong and never got the confirmation so I dont have the actual receipt email.

Haven't used Prime in years, but I remember having black spots. Did not appear to make any difference.
I’ve heard people say it smells really bad /makes their tank smell bad, Or clouds the water but the water clouding thing is only a select few reviews makes me think its not the cause or it was a bad bottle.

I'm pretty sure the smell is the Sodium Thiosulphate
