What’s up with my flowerhorn?

He just sits at the bottom and rarely eats do i need to “train him” or is he uncomfortable I’ve had him for 2-3 weeks now I feel he should be fine now is he ok? Help

I have never had one but they look like a very interesting and good looking fish. I would first check your water conditions and temperature. Are there any other fish in the tank? Have you tried different foods? Is the lighting in the tank too bright? I would go on line and google what is proper care for him since he is a new fish. Did you treat the water for chlorine? (very important) Have you done regular water changes? Is this a new tank? Have you cycled it? Do you know about the nitrogen cycle? Did you check the water for ammonia? Sorry but these are questions you need to answer

Looks like you have the basic covered. Closes fish I had to him is African Cichlids which doesn't help you. Sorry, hopefully someone else has experience with this type of fish.

You could try and contact the people who sold him to you, they may have an answer. I know I am grasping at straws here

Just carrying on from what Retired Viking asked, can you provide us with some details.
How long has the tank been set up for?
What is the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, GH and temperature in the tank?

How often do you do water changes and how much do you change?
Do you gravel clean the substrate when you do a water change?

What sort of filter is on the tank?
How often and how do you clean the filter?

What other fish are in the tank?
Can you post a picture of the fish and of the tank?
What are you feeding the fish?
