The closest i could find on planet catfish was Synodontis brichardi but the markings were slightly different. There was a Synodontis Sp. which looked more like yours also so it could have been that.

I'll defer to the knowledge of more experienced catfish keepers!

Thanks for searching. I noticed one of the sp looked like him too but only from the bottom the top markings were very different.

ok I think I found him but not sure
Synodontis schoutedeni
Clicky

My first immpression was that this was a Synodontis Schoutedeni but I'd like to know how big he is. One thing I know is that this is not a S. Brichardi too chunky to be one  . Not many Synodontis has such bold head patterns since most Juviniles loses and get "dots". Almost makes me wonder if it's a "new" fish to come out of Africa?

He's probably about 3 inches including tailwas about 1.5 when I got him a few months back.
Ooooo can I have him? Please please please please please please.

i dont know what kind he is exactly but he must be related to my upside down cat fish they have the same shape and pattern, and he acts the same way, besides the color and size they look like twins  ( on glass even though hes not a sucker)

Awwww shucks. :( I love Synos. My three biggest tanks all have synos in. From the single naughty bully Angelicus to my large family mixed species group.  If he/she is anything like my synos, it'll grow fast. I would imagine he should slow growth at around 6 inches but may continue well beyond over time. My largest is a Clarias and she's a good 8inches or more now.

P.S:You ever need him/her rehomed.......I'll save a place. ;)

lol i think every one would, but if i study my upside down cat fish more and more he looks exactly like yours, and he must be a yellowish color because of the sand your useing,

how fast do they grow? :X
i hope mine gets big soon, the big ones are even cuters

They can grow very fast, especially on a good mixed diet. My Clarius has grown the fastest. I got her at around 2inches. Now she's well over 8inches. And her tail!! Is enormous, seriously.  She's grown that in around 8ish months. So about half an inch a month but I would say more like an inch for the first few months and slowed down more recently. :)
