What's This Red Stuff Coming Out Of My Danio?

Just noticed this red stuff coming out of my danio, it turned black at the end furthest away before breaking off, it was over 10cms, what is this.

I'm gonna move this to the Emergency Room, as it will get a more specialist response there.
 
I would suspect internal parasites causing bleeding, or an internal bacterial infection.

hmm, not good, so it wasn't faeces then? He is still alive but not looking too great, could it have spread to my other fish?

Should I remove him?
 
Extra info: I added a few rummynose 2 weeks ago & they showed signs of neon tetra disease so I had to get rid of them, after I added them 1 danio start doing nosedive somersaults into the gravel, it went on for 2 days before I had to put him out of his misery. That was over a week ago & I cleaned everything in the tank in boiling water.
What do I do here? I'm a newb so any advice appreciated.

Just over 6 weeks, ammonia & nitrites are 0, nitrates about 20.
 
I done a 40 mile round trip today to get some sterazin to try save it, dosed about 5 hours ago, the sick fish is just hanging around in a corner now swimming slowly, not good...
