whats the coolest freshwater shark that most depicts its saltwater cousin? as far as looks and swimming style? slow and majestic...

I would say iridescent shark. Although freshwater "sharks" commonly available to aquarists are not related to real sharks, they were simply nicknamed "sharks" due to how they looked.

red tails or rainbows... they have sleek black bodys and vibrant red fins.

I don't think any of them really resemble sharks at all (the freshwater fish labeled as "sharks" in the hobby bear no relation to saltwater sharks). Iridescent are probably the closest, but I would not recommend them for any tank. They can grow to be VERY large.

to me, its a mature Bala. ok so the scales dont, quite work, but in form and attitude, it has the lithe confidence of its salt water names sake. if it were not for the Barbles, i would say the Columbian shark (14 inches).

for looks I would say a Wobbegong and a bristle nose plec look similar (I know a plec is not a shark). Watching my large common plecs cruising round the tank I can often hear the jaws theme lol

really? There's no genetic link at all?...interesting, and a very misleading, sales making name!

A wobblegong is saltwater isn't it?

Yes the op was asking for whats the coolest freshwater shark that most depicts its saltwater cousin? the bristlenose looks a bit like a wobblegong, if you look with one eye and squint a bit and forget its a plec and not a freshwater shark.

I agree that large plecs cruising around tanks look like sharks (in the way their tails stroke side to side slowly and majestically)
