whats the best fish for eating algae?

wot bout snails? i'm thinkin of getting and apple snail, but i dunt know wether it wil get along with my chinese sucker fish///>???

snails are good but don't get the little black\gray ones that most fish keepers try to kill. get apple snail and i don't think it's a good idea if u got plants. if u got plants then get a plec or an algee pad :) .

Nothing beats hard work then it comes to algee bu RO water helps.
 
why not have golden apple snails with plants?

i have a heavily planted tank an i have a golden apple snail... it cleans the algea off the plants... it dost eat the plants itself...
 
IME Hillstream Loaches but as already said these are coldwater fish.

Otos are great! I like them as fish and they are always munching on algae. A lot of people go on about Siamese Flying Foxes but I have never noticed my 5 make an impact, but then I have never seen algae in that tank either. ;)
