What’s happening to my artificial plant?

I included a pic. New pic. I did just battle ich after adding 2 new Platy fish. But what’s up with this plant?

I haven’t wiped that one but I had it on another plant last week and it did come off that one. But I didn’t touch it. Just wiped with paper towel. Having a brown algae problem in this tank. It’s still in new stages. Went through brown algae with my other tank too.

No snails. But an African dwarf frog is in there!

Was the plant sold as an aquarium plant? If it wasn't it could be that it was never intended to be submerged permanently and is starting to decompose.
