What Would Look Nice With These?

at the mo iv got
60 ltr tank with,,,,

1 silver molly
1 black molly
4 guppys (2 blue and 2 yellow)
3 clown loach
1 siamese fighter(male)
4 baby black mollys (gave birth 2 days after i got them home lol)

so what would be nice fish(s) to add ??

Firstly, you will need to take back the clown loaches and the siamese fighter.

The clown loaches get FAR TOO BIG for tank (and will before long).

And siamese fighters reportedly attach and kill guppies...

I agree, bring back the Clowns, and Betta and you really should be about stocked with the ammount of fry you should get.

But if you do want something else you could go for a small school (about 5-6) of small tetras ex: glowlights, neons, cardials...etc.

My first response is probably not wanted to hear as a reply to your first post, but I stand by what I suggested. However I do realise I could have come across a little less aggressive and apologise for that.

right i got the loaches at the same time as the tank (well a day after)
so is this a case of the seller thinking ill sell this guy anything he wants because he knows nowt ??
anyway i did say i would get another tank just for the loaches.

and the fighter i got 2 days ago with the guppys and was told they would be ok and so far they have been.

but not happy with the store selling me these fish and not giving a rats about there aftercare.

They do that sometimes, but not all of them, and when they do it is not always intentional and without giving hoot...

Thats why it is best to find out about fish prior to buying.

If you intend to get a larger tank for the cloans that is great, but it really can not wait very long and it will need to be a very big tank... do you have the space and money available for that?

Yeah, if you plan on getting a tank for the Clowns then youre looking at, oh, about, 250 gallons as they can grow up to 18 inches long. They really should be taken back. And, in my opinion, shouldn't really be sold in the hobby anymore, but hey, that's just one opinion.

And this does sound like the typical LFS that is only interested in making a profit, is there anywhere else you can try?

i certainly cant afford a 120 gallon tank

Well, just because the clown loaches are no good does not mean you can not have any loaches...

There are khuli loaches and zebra loaches which should be fine in a tank your size. Personally out of those two I would go with the zebra loaches (botia striata)

Betta and guppys have very mixed results depending on the temperament of the individual fish.

They can attack eack other with either being the casualty. Alternatively they can also live together in peace. Keep a close eye on their finnage for the first signs of trouble.

Oh, I've read of them growing to 18...I stand corrected! You can definately get some smaller loaches. I have some Yo-yo Loaches and love them, they are charming, comical little fish!

sorry to through a spanner into the works but in all my years of fishkeeping ive never seen a clown loach get over 6 inches. plus i have had 1 for about 3 years from an old friend who i dont no how long he had it before me and id say it has gained half a centermeter. its still tiny. and its in a four foot tank and will stay in there for a number of years yet. keep your loaches!!! if they get to big, then get rid of them. people buy far more silver sharks and tin foil barbs for there tanks and they get even bigger!! not saying everyone on here is wrong,far from it, just everything doesnt have to b done by the book because we all know how varied books and "facts/infomation" are. and as for your siamese fighter, if he attacks anything, get rid, but ive also had a few over the years and ive never seen them attack any fish of mine. maybe i was lucky. good luck and i havent meant to offend lol!!
