just wondering i am looking at upgrading my current (2 aqua clear 300). But i dont want to spend a whole lot of coin. Was thinking on keeping at least one aqua 300 runnin and maybe a fluval 404 or something by eheim. Any suggestions?

Hi. In my big tank I run a Rena XP3 and an Eheim 2026. IMO the Eheim is the better of the 2, less noisey, easier to maintain and seems better built. If budget is no problem go with a Pro II be it 2026 or the bigger 2028. HTH

Eheim Pro II 2028, I wouldn't use anything else now that I own one. On that size tank, though, I would be tempted to use two of them which would filter your water 3x per hour (the 2028 filters 750 litres per hour). You would then also have a backup that can cope should one of them fail. Mine is so silent, the only thing I can hear on my tank is the mechanical timer used to control the lighting :)
