As I was trying to take a nap today during a pretty impressive windstorm, I heard a large *CRACK*. My mom started screeching for me, so I ran downstairs and found that the main, largest branch of our darned tall maple tree had broken off! Of course it was laying on our numerous plants, bushes, and another tree... so we had to move it. :flex: Let's just say I'm stronger than I look. I took the heavy end of that sucker and lifted it straight over everything to drop in the grass. Yey me for saving the day. However, now the tree is ugly. Here's the tree and it's branch! Biiiiiig branch. :-( Pooor treeeee.

Hi Julie,

Sorry about your tree

We got the same wind storm over here in Spokane (sorry, I just figure your a westerner ;) ) I had planted a little flowering tree in the yard a couple months ago and seeing as how it's only 6 ft I was REALLY worried about it.....but all was okay!!!

Small world we live in

lol!! Adrinal, are you a big fan of suburbs or somethin? I guess ours is pretty nice... you'd never know our backyard was all pasture would you? :p Our family did a darned good job on it if I do say so myself.

It does seem this windstorm reached quite a few places - heard it on the news! Real high winds in quite a few places on the west coast. Btw silver, yes I'm a "westerner". hehehe...

wuv - I know poor tree huh? The sad thing is, about a year ago it lost the main branch it had then too. That time it was due to a huge ice storm we had. This type of tree just isn't the right type for our awful winter weather around here!! The water sits where the branches connect to the trunk and then those spots get weak and then... this happens. *sigh* My poor daddy is very depressed, t'was his favorite tree!
