Been doing a lot of swapping around recentley and very happy with my stock right now...but don't know if it will work long term.

As you probably know I added a third Severum recentley...this guy was so cool i couldnt not add him lol!

Anyway looking to the future now I dont plan to stock anymore,as my stuff grows what do you think will have to be rehomed?

The tank is 100USG 4ftx26"x21"

Cichlids

2 x Common Severum (1 x Gold,1 x Red Spotted,heros efasciatus)
1 x Severum (Rotkeil) (Heros Sp. Rotkeil)
1 x Festivum (Mesonauta festivus)
1 x Blue Acara (Aequidens Pulcher)
1 x Gold Acara (Aequidens Latifrons)
1 x Female Kribensis (Pelvicachromis pulcher)
1 x Rainbow Cichlid (Herotilapia multispinosa)
1 x Pearl Eartheater (Geophagus brasiliensis)
2 x Angel Fish (1 x Koi,1 x Black,Pterophyllum scalare)

Dithers

3 x bosemani rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani)
3 x Red Rainbowfish (Glossolepis incisus)
3 x Clown Loach (Chromobotia macracanthus)
1 x Bristlenose Plec (Ancistrus cirrhosus)

Imo, you could play it how you see it. If bullying starts then the one bullying or the one being bullied could be re-homed. Otherwise when they're matured pick the one's you have grown attached to as the ones you'd keep. That's what I'd do.

I'm attatched to all of them! lol

I just had some comments on MFK that it will turn into a blood bath.

One of my Severums is nearly fully grown...a big male and my Brasiliensis (male) is around 6" and not agressive at all

The only time I get problems is when i add new fish for the first couple of hours, then it dies down.

Infact the most 'bitchy' fish in my tank are my Acaras, they tend to pick on my Rainbow Cichlid...and my Rainbow Cichlid is the worst offender to new additions.

I don’t know much, but have always been told aggression is part of a Cichlids nature. You’re tank seems to be SA cichlids which generally are more peaceful, sure there could be a blood bath but much more likely in an aggressive CA community then a SA community. Having said that, they may still fight over territory and for dominance. If everything is okay now, and you don’t add anymore fish and you have good filtration then personally don’t think you need to make a decision just yet. I would be cautious about having 2 Blue Acara’s though, and there might be aggression between the Sev’s for dominance at some stage. So that’s what I would look at changing at some stage. My 2c.

You have got most of them quite young Glen, as you know that goes in your favour. Holidayinn is right, you have to just wait and see what happens. Chances are you could keep them all, but there is always the chance that two of your Sevs form a pair and will go ape#### at breeding time. I think as with all Cichlids its a lottery. Just keep an eye open for bullying (which you obviously will) and sort things accordingly. If you have to remove a fish that you are particularly fond of, then thats a great excuse for another tank. :good:

Well had my first issue today, I woke up to find that my rainbow cichlid had a extreme lump of flesh ripped out of his face so had no choice but to put him down,he was struggling like hell. The guy had been getting picked on by My Blue Acaras a lot!

Not going to replace him tho, need as much room as possible really.

I think looking at it now this don't look so bad...

3 x Severum
1 x Festivum
2 x Blue Acara
1 x Pearl Eartheater
2 x Angel Fish
6 x rainbowfish
3 x Clown Loach

Not such a bad thing if the Angel Fish have to be rehomed later on,I got them cheap and could probably sell them for more than i paid for them now anyway.
