Seen a fish i lked the look of in a shop but they were labelled "Dwarf Catfish" and i cant find any info online :(

They were 2-3cm long and looked like plecs but very active in the day. The lady said they wouldnt grow much bigger from what she knew, I loved them! My tank wont handle anything large so i got excited as always wanted a plec. She said they were catfish, they kind of looked like low down brown triangles shooting around the bottom.

Would love to find some info!

Another woman thought they were called leaf catfish? but i cant find any info there either :(

Would hate to buy something before i knew if i could home it well

Thanks
Rob

No, it was very triangular as opposed to long, it was also very dark brown. Maybe I will go back and ask

Try looking up Hara Hara or moth catfish, they look similar but stay tiny :) catfish like that are oppourtunists tho and may take small fish (the banjos i mean, sorry!)

Asian Stone Catfish are Hara Jerdoni, is it them?
But these or Banjos are not very active at all :look:

Possibley a corydoras harbrosus common name Dwarf Cory, Corydoras pygmaes- common name Pygmy Cory, Corydoras cochui - common name Pygmy Catfish, CO22, Barred tailed Corydoras, or Cochu's catfish. All of these stay small but don't have the pleco type markings I'm thinking of. Or maybe they were just young Bristle noses? A lot of people call them pleco's depending on what you were taught and they stay smaller than the average pleco.

The young Bristle nose is hanging on the right side of the photo.

On the off chance I have added a pic of one of my Borneo Sucker Fish they stay small and have heaps of common names.

baby banjos certainly look like small leafes on the floor. i brought 2 as babies and theyre doing well in my tank, a good 4-5 inches long now. i dont see them very often as they bury int eh sand during the day, but every now and then you can see a breather hole or pile of sand moving.

heres a photo i managed to get yesterday of one of them. not very good, but as i said they'r enot exactly forthcoming for photos.

when they were younger, the tail was much shorter in comparison to the body.

She told me:
Dwraf Catfish
Hara hara
Leaf Plec

Hara Jerdoni looks to fit the bill

It looks like it has brown arms!

lovely little fish not seen one of those before ,just did a google search and they seem to prefer cooler water for a tropical fish

I wonder if they will eat planaria wohahaha!
Are they nocturnal?
Will I ever see them

Nothing like a bit of research needed :)

cant talk from any kind of personal knowledge or experience but the search I did said they are very inactive, you prob will never see it ha and they will require food like frozen brine blood and hopefully catfish pellets
