What Type Of Gourami Is Best For My Tank?

Omg?????? Lol

Looks like your thread has been hijacked...........

You could easily add a single male Dwarf Gourami to that mix. Eventually you could try getting him a couple of females after he's settled in. Try to introduce the females at the same time if possible.

Another option would be a Pair of Pearl Gouramis. They're probably the least aggressive of the larger, coloful Gouramis that are available. Those should be fine in a pair or add an extra female if you want to spread out the aggression.

My Pearl Gouramis are my favorites, followed by my Powder Blue Dwarf. The Opaline is just mean but I still love her.

Thankyou lol :-D what about catfish? is there any type of catfish i could keep? that wouldnt eat my shrimp? ;)

My son has (4) Otocinclus Catfish (Oto's) with (3) Ghost shrimp & no problems whatsoever. I wouldn't trust a Bristlenose Pleco...........not with Shrimp anyway.

Ive got 3 oto's too, i cant make my mind up now lol so much to choose from and alot to read up on first!

Just a note:

I had (2) very healthy looking Otos in my 36 gallon & I added a small Bristlenose Pleco because the fish store folks said it was okay. Three days later both Otos were dead..........not that I'm certain the Bristlenose killed them but the circumstances were suspicious.

It could simply be that the BN ate too much leaving them nothing.

ooh right, il stay away from them just incase! what about glass catfish? or something similar? thanks :good:

Glass cats are best in a 40 gallon tank with a school of 6 to 8 with more being better. My father bought them for my son & now he won't let me return them. I wouldn't have suggested only 2 in a 20 gallon but his 2 seem to be doing fine, better than they would be back at the fish store.
