Also I have 8 neon tetra's and 5 zebra danio's... Would I be able to have Tiger Barbs with these and the above?

they look gorgeous!

1st pic looks like a betta to me :S awesome coloring!

and the 2nd pic looks like a long finned Platy =]

The first fish is definatly a siamese fighter.
The second im not to sure on but im guessing its what bagu said.
Its not a fighter though definatly.
What else do you have in the tank?
As siamese fighters can be very funny with other fish.

neons will nip the bettas find so i think you should set a tank up for the betta =]

they look like siamese fighting fish to me, do you have both in the same tank? as they say onl y 1 per tank for the fishes safety as they will fight......

They all in same tank, I remember the bloke in the shop saying I could only have one of the top one because of the clash. The bottom one is a different type of fish, I have two of those in the same tank and the three get on fine.

David,

Looks like a Siamese fighter (betta spleneden) and a black sail fin molly to me. I may be wrong, there are plenty more knowledgeable people than me here who might think differently.

Tiger barbs are great fish, but I think they may nip at the fighters long flowing fins, so I would pick something different to be on the safe side.

Regards,

Jon :good:

A betta is the siamese (the one with the long fin).
You will need to get a new tank for him on his own as the neons will attack him.
They only require smallish tanks.
Around 5+ gallons.

The top pic is a siamese fighter (betta) and the second a black sailfin molly. I'd move the betta to a 5 gal by himself and i wouldn't recommend tigers as you have mollys and the tigers would fin nip the mollys. By the way what is your tank size/ litres?

Oh bum lol, they don't seem to be bothered with each other. But you know more than me, I'll have to get him a new tank, or give him or Tetra's to my Nan lol.

some bettas can live fine in community tanks but its risky coz all it takes is one fish to nipe enother and it will all kick off

Agree, the top blue&white fish is a siamese fighting fish (betta) (betta splendens) and the lower one is a black lyretail/(perhaps sailfin too?) male molly who will want the water to not be too soft or acid probably.

I agree that you could go a bit longer and keep the discussions up before determining whether to do another tank for the betta, situations vary and depend somewhat on fish personalities in the tank. Close observations and notes in your aquarium notebook can turn out to be very valuable in this regard.

It looks like you've got a couple of plants in there that are terrestrial plants, not underwater ones, and they are beginning to do poorly and will eventually die. Plants that have white are never underwater plants and very stiff plants are suspect.

How long has the 10g been up and running and what method did you use to cycle it?

~~waterdrop~~

Yep as stated above a siamese fighter and a Molly. :good:
Whereabouts are you as if you cannot find a home for youre fighter if you do decide to give him away i am sure a member on here would be happy to take him instead of you giving youre nan unwanted fish.
Plus they could help and give you some helpful advise as well as members on here :good:
