What Type Of Catfish Is This?

Ah right yeah ponds are not really doable then unless it was a specific tropical pond. Try to get it back to the store, at the end of the day they should be able to send it back to the wholesalers and hopefully they will have somewhere at their facilities to look after it and hopefully they will stop sending them to that store.

no she lives in a place called st neots or something

Which is also in the UK. Hence not recommending having tropical fish in a Pond. I very much doubt your nan heats the pond, and if she does, I pretty much guarantee she doesn't heat it to tropical levels all year round.

ok guys got it, i wont bother with trying to get them to my nans, but what if my lfs wont take them back?? is there anyone who i can send them to??

An other LFS? Often some places will help you out with these, I know recently there is an LFS near me that took an order of somewhere in the region of 100 of these had no clue what they where called them a tricoloured catfish and sold them to everyone then it was left to one local owned LFS to deal with the mess it was a credit to the store to sort it out. Not sure what they did but I know they took in all the ones that they could find and sent them off somewhere.

Do you have many LFS around you? What has happened is by no mean uncommon and any decent LFS that understands your predicament will be able to help you out to some extent.

well, there is 4 from what i can guess, im hoping the guy who owns the shop is in...i get on pretty well with him so im sure he will understand that i just cannot offer them the right kind of living conditions...he should be ok, i hope

well, ive taken them back, the women there has no clue at all, when i asked her what size she thought it would grow to she promtly answered with a "about 5 inchss" totaly useless...i told her how large they grow and she then replyed with "na they will only grow as big as your tank will let them" so i told her that they couldnt stay in my tank as they were fighting aswell, im not lying there either! there fins were a mess for some odd reason, yet the guppy in there is fine? totaly odd...so anyway to end this i told her they grow to 5ft and MAYBE they wouldnt grow to that in my tank but there organs would pay for it, going back in there tomoz to have a chat with the store owner and point him in the direction of the internet to do some research on the fish....hopfully he will belive me, he is normal pretty good with the fish!

well thanks for the help anyway guys, glad i came and asked! :good:

I know this doesnt help but this is why doing reasearch BEFORE getting fish is a good idea
scot :)

lol know what you mean ive trusted shop before as well now i read, read some more then go back, hope you sort it
I agree with nelly bag em up go back and hand em over as the shop really must of known hardly anybody can keep these fish in the conditions they need without been stunted etc if they wont take em just leave em on the counter and walk out

little tip cause a seen shops dont like new prospective customers to hear complaints about there serbvice, fish, knowelege etc.....
