So, I really haven't posted here in quite a while. Anyhow, if anyone remembers, I had a red VT named Dante that I just adored. A few weeks after I got him, he had jumped out of his tank (while I was cleaning it), and I believe he injured his back in some way, and he died. This was about four months ago. I belive that would've been the last time I made a post in the Betta section.

On Saturday, I was with my brother at Petsmart because he was getting some crickets for his gecko. I always make it a habit to check on the bettas whenever I go there, and I normally can restrain myself from buying one, but for some reason, I saw one I just had to buy. Now, I just can't decide what to name him. He has quite the agressive personality, he is constantly flaring at everything. Which is why I've come down to two names, Týr and Loki. Now, if you don't know who they are in the Norse mythology, I suggest looking them up. I want a somewhat agressive name for him to describe his personality. I'm sick of the Greek & Roman mythology names like Hades or Pluto. I have included a picture of him. So if you like either of the names, please vote for them, but if you come up with one you find better, please post!

I thought Loki, until I saw the picture. Out of those two names he looks more like a Tyr, but then that made me think of Fenrir!

Awesome fish, whatever you name him :good:

That could be a good name, but I'm looking into more of the gods than the animals in the mythology spectrum.

lol, you know what? I was thinking about naming him Cthulhu the day I got him and then I realised that Cthulhu was a more mystical than anything and that didn't describe my betta at all. lol.

Hmm well there is Vali, he was kind of a badass.

Haha, if I ever had an octopus or a cuttlefish then I'd name it Cthulhu :p

Týr definitely. He looks like a determined Justice giver :D Also, your username is about a million kinds of excellence. I adore AFI ( have 2 tatoos thus far ) :p

lol, thank you. AFI was the band that first got me into music. I've branched out musically in many ways since then, but they are the beginging of my love for music.

Also, check out Tyr, they're a folk metal band that is quite good.

I think Tyr shall be his name. Does anyone want to challenge that?

Yes they are. Anyhow, his name will be Tyr. Thank you for all your opinions! :)

A little off topic but I see that you live in St. Paul and you obviously like folk metal. Have been to any of the Heathen Crusade fests in St. Paul? I've been to all three :)

My better half was looking over my shoulder as I was reading this thread, she thought he looked more like a Thor than a Loki.

My own suggestion is Azrael.

Sorry, I should have read above that you have chosen a name.

lol, no I have not. Though I strongly like folk metal, for some reason I just try to avoid the concerts that have "heathen" or "pagan" in them. I honestly don't fit that group, lol. My friend wants me to go to Paganfest 2 with him though. I may go to that.

/end of off topic subject

Anyhow, Tyr is doing quite well in his tank. He built his bubblenest and started eating the day after I purchased him. I never posted that, but I thought I should. He's a real healthy boy. :good:
