Tomorrow i am going to the fish shop to purchase a few female guppies. I want to make sure they are pregnant but how can i tell how far gone they are without knowing when their last drop was? I was just wondering what i should look out for?

You will be lucky to find a pregnant one in a store !! with all the stress they go through there I doubt you will find one.

Do they keep males and females 2geter where u live???
because where i get my fishes from they keep the males and females in different tanks

Most of the time they keep them together. Only certain male guppies are kept alon because of the coloration.

As for what to look for:
They shouldn't have clamped fins
They shouldn't hide in a corner
Shouldn't scratch
Shouldn't gasp at the surface
Have good coloration
And even if they're not pregnant, chances are that they have packets of sperms stored away.

It's best to try and get one that's not pregnant because then you don't risk losing the entire batch due to stress of a tank move and a long trip home. :dunno:
