Hi All.

Ive just added seachem substrate tabs to my 40 gallon tank.

Ive heard so much about seachem flourish and carbon but can i put any of these in with the tabs??

I dont want to mess about with co2. Just want to add liquid co2 or something that will help my plants.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Dave

Tabs go into your substrate so the roots can use them.

Seachem flourish and Excel are liquids, To be dosed daily, where is the root tabs last around 4ish months.

All can be used.

Hi.

As i have already added the tabs, which would you say is best to go in with it seachem flourish or carbon.

Thanks,

ive got dwarf hairgrass and sag. Just want to get the most growth i can without co2 system

Searchem flourish is the fert and carbon is liquid CO2? Unless am wrong.

If your going to dose carbon you need to dose a fert with KP&N. Florish alone wont be enough.
If you want an all in one I would suggest florish excel or easycarbo along with something like Neutro+ which Is a fert with trace KP&N basically everything you need for healthy plants. Both should be dosed daily.

liquid carbon is fine for most set ups, but gets expensive in larger tanks and isn't as good as pressurised systems, which is why you tend to see them on bigger tanks, as the costs of the kit drop off against the quantity of liquid carbon you're buying over time.

I agree in general with SLIM on the npk dosing, although it's not an issue if light is the limiting factor. Light, however, is rarely the limiting factor, so in that sense he's quite correct that you'll want the marco ferts.

Well put. Carbon for me on 600L was costing £20 a month hence why I went pressurized lol

Just to add to what has already been said Liquid Co2 can also be used alongside Pressurized Co2, therefore adding a second source of carbon for your plants to utilise.

Liquid carbon also acts as an algaecide which helps against algae build up

In my 10g I use flourish excel (co2) and seachem root tabs. I have dwarf hair grass and dwarf baby tears and they've been growing fine without dosing with ferts.
