***From my kitchen*** (new keybored like half the size of my last one)

What kind of plec is he? As you don't mention this, I imagine he is either a common or a sailfin. Apart from the algae wafers, he would probably enjoy a piece of zucchini, carrot, broccoli or sprout.

i cant help you out here, he was giving to my by my uncle he told me i will have to rehouse or give him to a pet store becuase he will get over a foot long if that helps any? um..il look for a pic right now

i belive he is an spotted royal pleco? not sure at all tho! hes only 7inchs right now in my 90 gallon

Cucumber!! They love it.

And Algae wafers or pleco tablets from your lfs. I didn't used to feed mine anything but I've had much more success with Plecs since I've given them a daily treat.

If he is a royal pleco, he also needs wood as part of his diet. A piece of bogwood will make him happy. If you post a pic we can probably identify him.

Paul, how long have you had this plec and not fed him? And is he growing at a normal pace? Do you mean that he is eating algae in a heavily algae- covered tank, or is he scavenging from the bottom. If the latter, what do you feed the others to make sure the plec gets a healthy balanced diet?

Well mine has been in a tank for about 25 days. It cleans the glass, plant, and i have a rock, which he stays on it cleaning it and the pipes and filter he is always busy no time for resting. I use to add for him aa type of algea wafer but he doesnt like it i will be going to the LFs to see if he has other type. He just eat the algea nad the reamining food, and yeah he is growing healthy and always on action.

If you've only had him such a short time, then maybe you shouldn't go suggesting to other posters that you can keep a pleco longterm without feeding it. Eventually no doubt he will have finished the algae in the tank and will need supplements to his food.
