What To Feed Them

This morning one of my mollies gave birth to about 25 (i think but i can't count them all) fry. the problem is that i don't know what to feed them. i'm not sure if i need special food for them or will they eat the regular fish food. please help. i would like to keep as many alive as i can.

Well, Mollies are big enough from the start to eat very finely crushed flake food. So you can give them that. Maybe alternate in some Frozen/Freeze-dried/Live food as that will help them get stronger and grow faster. Small pieces of blanched veggies are also good.

If you don't want to start them on flakes, you can go to your LFS, and see if they have any fry food. Then start them out on that. Remember, feed 3 times a day, 4-6 if possible.

Flakes are good enough. I fed mine marine flakes (they were born in saltwater after all) because of the higher protein content, as well as bloodworms and other frozen foods that the marines too were eating.

well theres two things u can do leave them in a well planted tank and hop the will survive or isolate them in a small tank and feed them a small sized fish food

I currently have 'one' small mollie fry in a floating hatchery...

Seems the others where eaten and I don't want to risk loosing this lil guy/girl

At the mo we are feeding the small fry some tetra food for baby fish - you only need a small amount at a time - remember if you dO get a floathing hatchery (Advisable) to keep it clean!

Thinking of adding some more variety to the fry's food like the above mentioned also.

My little sweeties were also born in saltwater. hehe. i went to my fish guy and he told me to just keep feeding them the food he gave me for the mother only crush it up a little. so far it's working. hope they get bigger soon. i am so excited i am a grandmother!!!
