What To Feed Plecs

Does anyone feed thier Plecos anything but veggies? I ask this since mine love meat. I just fed my JD some steak and the pleco shot out of his cave straight to the meat.

I could be wrong, but I am under the impression that BN Plecos are vegetarian. I don't know if that applies to all plecos, but I seem to remember reading that BNs are supposed to only eat veggies.

Although the bulk of their diet should be vegetables, they will on occassion eat bloodworms, mussels etc. These should only be fed once in a while though.

likewise, ours get bloodworm, mussels, prawns and other frozen meaty foods too - but not all the time.

Yeah, every month or maybe twice a month, I feed some bloodworms to my fish and the BN's go after it just like the others. Most of what I keep is omnivorous leaning on vegetarian or insectivorous so I don't feed them too much protein. They will eat it though. Just don't let yours eat too much protein. They might get constipated and that's never a good thing.
