What To Do?

My red tailed black shark was fine in it’s 20 uk gallon tank unless someone went into it’s adopted cave, I’ve now put it in a bigger 40 uk gallon tank along with some bronze corydoras, clown loaches, a sail fin plec. He Is fine with most but has major issues with my corydoras & this time it’s not about defending it’s cave but it actually seems to be patrolling the tank & will chase them from where ever he finds them, all over the tank in & out of caves, if at first they don’t run he will hover flashing at them till they do. The corydoras seem pretty shell shocked after one of these encounters so will there be a health problem for the Corys if this is allowed to carry on? I could transfer the shark back to the smaller tank, which has a few different species of tetra & khullie loaches, but I think this would transfer the problem onto them. I will be getting a larger tank in the future, so what could I do if any thing in the mean time?

Provide the corys with alot more cover via plants, unfortunatly once RTBS start acting agressive they usually don't stop- some will chill out a bit if you re-arrange the decor or give them more space, but this doesn't always work. Adding more bronze corys will help disperse the agression more from the rtbs between them and make life a little easier too- rtbs need at least 30gals so if you move him make sure he gets at least a 30gal tank to live in .

If the cories keep getting stressed, it could lead to major problems. Cories are a very peaceful fish and do not like any aggression. Stress will lower its immune system and that could lead to bacterial infections. That is bad news when it comes to cories. I would not risk it and either move the RTBS or the cories. They are awesome fish, but can be very nasty.

Cheers peeps, Tokis Phoenix i've gone for your option, i had a couple of large plastic cave's with multiple entrances & a few plants already. So yesterday i brought some slate & more plants. I've used the slate to make three more cave's at the cory's level surrounded by the plants to provide more cover & so far so good i only witnessed 1 chase last night, so fingers crossed it this will do.
