What to do with new fish.

I got this fish from my friend and i really like it, its so cool!

But i dont know what to do whit him.

He is alway hiding during the day.
sometimes when i go thru the room and flip the light on hes swiming around be he zooms back to his hiding spot.

Right now i only have a sucker type cat fish( not sure what exact kind, it has little feeler things on its head.) and a bronze cat fish (corydoras aeneus)

What do i feed him and should i feed at night with the light off.

But i only have flakes for food, tropical vegitable and dried brine ship flakes.

I heard that they like live food so i am gonna get my hands on some live brine shrimp for hime and my FRY that im gonna have(Im buying some guppies, mollie, sorwdtails and some other random live bearers.).

But untill then i think ill pick up some blood worm and throw that in.

get some algae tablets all three will go bonkers for them. You can also feed them blanched (boiled for a minute and then dipped in cold water) zucchini or other veggies

Frozen bloodworms are good too

Mine were like that when I only had a few. I added more and now they've gotten so laid back I couldn't do anything to scare em off. They always out in the open lookin for food. One of their favorite things to do it scare me to death (well at first) by resting on the filter inlet, lookin as if their dead and the filter has them pinned there. Turns out they just like resting there since they're so lazy and the filter holds them in place for em.

i have 3 kuhli loaches black ones about 4-5cm long they r so cool and they r skittish and i dont have to feed them anything i just put a little extra flakes in they sink to the bottom and at night they come out and eat them

my 5 are good at playing pratical jokes on me... they must know i cant stand my hand being touched in the water (cause i have no idea if its my frogs or my crab!!) so they all take it in turns by zipping past my hand and makin me scream like a big girl

they also have another one, wrapping themselfs around my thermomitor as if trapped, and also gettin sucked up by the syphon (with the end taken off so its just tubing)


all this just to hear me screach!!!

Yeah this guy just hides under rocks and logs.

Im gonna put in more plants and buy about 5 more.

Damn hes fast though!

Kuhli loaches are one of the funniest fish you can have! When you get some more you will really enjoy them.

I have a friend whose loach used to drape itself over her big mystery snail and go for a ride.
