I had someone on Craigslist that was going to take my Pleco, but the stopped responding to my emails. He is 5 inches, and in mt 55 gallon. If I take him back to the LFS they are going to sell him to someone else with a 55 gallon, because they said he would be fine in my tank... What should I do with him? He seems happy for right now, and it's going to be at least a year or more before I can upgrade to a larger tank. Any suggestions?

Where do you normally go? I used to live in Long Beach, and I would sometimes go to 405, where they often carried a lot of monsters and oddballs, and they would generally ask about your setup if you were buying larger fish. Of course, this was years ago, and I have no idea who the people are in there now, and if they are still well knowledgeable, etc.

I go to both PetCo and Seaside tropical. I will look for that other place, because both of these places always tell me I'm wrong about things (they both said I didn't need to cycle a tank, they all go with the 1 inch per gallon, and both say a common pleco is fine in a 55 gallon, and they told me the Golden Wonder Killifish is shy and non aggressive and gave me attitude for bringing it back after it nipped all my guppies tails)

The place is called "405", or is just off the 405?

*Edit*
I just called and they said "they are fine in a 55 gallon, if he gets too big bring him back in and exchange him for a smaller one"
This frustrates me because, why would I want to just have a fish for a small amount of time, and keep starting over? Also, if I bring him in, my fear is that they are going to turn around and sell him to someone else with the same size tank as mine.

I think it's called 405 Tropical, and it is in Westminster technically, I think. Pretty sure it was on Goldenwest. But like I said, I haven't been in there for years, so maybe have a look and feel them out. They used to offer pretty good stock, and had a lot of rarer finds.

And yeah, some of the PetCo's I used to go to would probably sell you a Blue Whale for your tank if they could.

Oh really? That's kind of disappointing. You might be stuck dealing with Craigslist for a while.

You live in california? If so there must be an aquarium near you that would take it off your hands.
