Ok in my tank I have 10 goldfish that have been there about a year and doing wonderfully despite being a little crowded...(Some being sold to good friends soon). Well I used to work for PetsMart and some dude comes in with a sammich bag full of itty bitty platies! He wanted us to feed them to our oscars. I told him no and took them home myself. Well I held little hope for them in with my goldfish, even though their water is heated to about 77 degrees, they were just so small. Well...they are near full size now and doing great!! They are very pretty, red with black on their sides, almost irridencent. :D Now I need to find them homes...lol I am a semi-aggressive fish lover with a soft spot for communities.,,, :p

Why do you call them hybrids? Are they platy x swordtail crosses or something? If they are pure platy, you can give them to pretty much any LFS and I'm sure they'll take them on and sell them to new homes... If they are actualy hybrids, it may prove somewhat more difficult to find them homes though.

I call them hybrids because I have never seen the colors before on Platies. THe black-green irridecent splotch down their sides makes me wonder. I have seen no developing swords to classify them as sword-tail hybrids, I guess I am just assuming. They look just like red wag platies. Some are true: all red with black tails and fins, but most have that splotch. Very odd. When I get my digital camera working I will take some pictures.
