What to do with diseased tetra?

I had a ich outbreak in my tank recently, and while 2 of my fish cleared up fine with some Ich medication, my third just keeps getting worse. He stopped eating and is very inactive. I think it might be something worse than ich. I was wondering what should i do with him? I have nothing else to put him in, but I don't want him in my tank to reinfect my other fish . What should I do! The only thing I can think of is to send him off to fishy heaven, but I don't want to...

sounds like fungus. this is how my beta was acting before he died. it wasn't until it was too late that a big patch of white cottony fungus started growing. you can try and treat him but i think it may be too late... sorry

recently I had my first very poorly fish and was advised to send him/her to fishy heaven. I couldn't do it so took it back to Lfs and asked them nicely to sort it out.

Not only did they do that, but they gave me a free replacement. How kind was that?
