if you think it's overstocked with the exos, that's your opinion. i didn't post this though to ask if it was overstocked in that aspect. I just wanted to know if 4 corys (maybe 5 for a little) were ok in the 20 Long which is 30" long and 12" wide

Also, the question involved would it be better overall to put them in the 20 long because of the 10 being overstocked at the moment. since taking the 2 out might help with the overstock

my question is this:
at my tank at home (where im at now) i have a 10 gallon community that is a little overcrowded since i left it here (my dad has added a few fish and it was already a little crowded). those fish will hopefully be in a larger tank soon but that's not what this is about. in that tank i have an albino and emerald cory and i know they like to be in groups so i was thinking of bringing them back to shool with me today or tomorrow whenever i go back. so i would have 4 corys in the 20 and none in the 10. i figure this is a good idea cause theyll be in a group and the tank here will be less crowded. there would be 5 corys in the 20 but only for a little bit because the spotted one gets worse each day.

i just wanted to get everyones opinion on this

You asked for an opinion and I gave it. You didn't ask if 4 corys would be alright in that tank. You simply said that you were thinking of doing it. The only questions I could find in there were whether 1) the corys would be ok with the exodons (the answer is yes) or 2) would that be too many fish for the tank (and you know my opinion on that). I took it that the second question is what you were asking since you already had corys in there in the first place.

I agree with rdd1952 you can only offer advice its down to you if you take it, we have nothing to gain were not selling anything.

sorry rdd i thought u just meant there were too many exos, cause corys apparently are supposed to be by surface area not gallons so i thought overstocking in that category would be a little different. i came back today and the cory was dead and he turned almost white so idk what that could have been from? all the other fish are fine. i decided to leave the two corys at the tank at home since they will be getting a larger tank in a month and i can just give them a couple buddies. i'll just have to try and figure out why this one died and see if i can get another one

No problem. It's pretty common for a dead fish to turn very pale and it doesn't necessarily mean he was sick. You said he hadn't been active since you got him. He probably got mashed when they netted him. Most of the employees in the pet stores don't have a clue how to net a fish properly. I've seen them do it before. They make a fast swipe and end up pinning the fish against the glass. When I net mine at home, I use 2 nets and simply herd them with one right into the other.
