WHAT TO DO ABOUT DYED FISH

It occurred to me that while the RSPCA and many fish stores may ignore one or two letters, they may not be able to ignore several hundred--or thousand--so easily.

Here's what I'm thinking: we all post letters on what we think about dyed fish, and what we want done about it. Once we get enough, we can either mail them by post or email them to the RSPCA and maybe other fish stores and/or places like PetSmart who sell dyed fishes. In order to make this work, however, we need EVERYBODY to post!!! We have to get as many letters as possible!!! We can even see if we can't get other fish forums involved as well. I'm going to post a thread on other forums that I am a part of. EVERY POST COUNTS!!!!

I work in an office enviroment and have found that if you want something down then you defo have to do it in writing.

Emails wouldn't work half as well as letters.

Just one question though - do we all need to write a letter (Which the effort is likely to put a lot of people off) or could we just start an online petition and see how many people we could get to sign it?

I am sure I could set up on online petition if that is how we should go?

I'm actually in the middle of writing to PFK about their "Dyed Fish Campaign". I was kicked into action after a similar thread.

I'm suggesting that they as an officially recognised aquarium body with a bit of clout behind them target getting a petition together to take to the relevent people to get the import of dyed fish banned.

I'll post a thread if I get a reply to let you all know what they say.

Your that that may work better; I'm not sure. If we write letters, though, they don't have to be long. Just enough so that they get the idea. Even just a couple of sentences would probably work.

My idea is that we write our letters here on this thread. When we have enough, we print the thread and send it to them by post. That way they'll be bombarded with all the letters at once.

We also need to find some way to let the public know about this; maybe start a wide-spread boycott on all dyed fishes. These guys are going to try to keep selling these fish as long as people are buying them.
