2x electric yellows
2x jewels
1x plec

Looking for suggestions on what african to add to the tank next?

~50gal so lots of room.

i would do a jack dempsey but he might eventually outgrow the tank.

peacocks...there are tons of diff types ...they are cool fish n go well with yellows n jewels
 
Are your jewels a mated pair, if so you'll need to keep an eye on them around breeding time as they get very aggressive. Since jewels are carnivores, I'd go with some omnivorous mbuna to make feeding easier. First I'd add another 3-4 labs, they prefer to be in larger groups, then if you can source them any of the Cynotilapia afra variants would work, they'll need to be in a 1m/3f ratio. Iodotropheus sprengerae (commonly called Rusty cichlid) would be another good choice.

I really think the jewels would be too aggressive for peacocks so I wouldn't add them. :good:

Aren't JD's new world and jewels/yellows old? I think they are amazing fish but don't think one would fit well with my current stocking and water conditions.

dthoffsett - thanks for the input. the jewels are still juevy and am not even sure what sexes I have... I guess time will tell.
