Im new to this and in general from my knowledge Juwel are good tank designers.

My problem is ive got my eye on a new 240L Juwel tank at £365 (the website has it for £355, but P&P costs more than £10, so the shop im getting it from is doing a really good bargain)

Nothing wrong with it either, im ordering it in so they havent got it at there shop damaged i just asked if they order that specific model and they do

Here it is

However the shop is putting in with it a fluval405 (for 400 litre tanks) i doubt a tank this size would benefit from a fluval FX5? or does bigger filters in smaller tanks work brilliantly?

Thing is another tank is a Roma 200

And its £280, comes with a 205

I can save £85, but have 40L less water space.

Which one do you reckon i should go for?

My budget is way over £1000, but the point is no matter how big my budget is, theres no point wasting £85 if you can save it and get nearly as good quality/quantity.

Which one is better quality for money basically?

I wish to house a lot of fish, as many as possible, so really the 240 litres my best bet, but will 40L make much of a difference?

If it was me i would go for the first option. It's always good (IMO) to have more space in your tank, it expands your stocking options. (Why go for the cheaper option, then in a few months you might be kicking yourself because your tank is to small for a fish you really like the look of). Also, i think having the 405 in the tank won't do any harm, it will give you a bigger water turnover per hour thus giving you better water quality.

I have a 300l with a rena filstar xp 2 and a tetratec ex 1200 giving me a turnover of roughly 2200 litres per hour. I've never looked back since.

That's what i was thinking lol, just wondered if my logic was flawed or not, im getting the bigger one

i would get the fluval 405 with it though s the FX5 is huge and wont fit in the cabinet - only just fits in on my vision 450. Unless you dont mind it sitting outside, however it can be noisy at times
