What species should I “up” first?

So as some of you may know, I have some species of fish that need more buddies.

I have:

1 single female zebra danio. (Aggressive, but I think because she has been kept by herself her whole life)

2 Neon Tetras. (The rest died off)

3 Julii Corydoras. (Again the rest does off)

The zebra danio is in a 20g long tank along with cherry shrimp. The only reason why I am hesitant to get more danios, is because she is aggressive. Truth be told, she has only ever been on with neon tetras, but she was very nippy. What are your guys opinions?

I want to get more neons and Cory’s, but I want what’s best for my fish.

Danios become nippy when kept in low numbers, id increase that first as she has no one at all while the others at least have a few.

Get a big group at once, 7-9 more for her and there will be less aggression

Once you up your danios you will find she will be much happier. Mine chase each other (in a non aggressive way) and dont bother my other fish. They need company else the tend to divert their attention elsewhere which youve seen.

Yes, that's exactly it. Zebras are aggressive and nippy by themselves or in schools less than 6, but an even bigger group will even out the attitude and make them feel more secure.
If you just keep zebras in the tank, I suggest a shoal of at least 10. They may chase a bit the first week or so but it settles after they sort out hierarchy

I think I may aim for 9, because they only cost $2 at my LFS.

I still absolutely hate the light in my 20g long.
