I was wondering what spare harware you all have to hand, you know just in case

I have a 100w heater, a sponge filter, an air pump and a 7.5 gallon tank

so what have you got spare, for that unforseen emergancy?

10g, 40g long, 150w heater, a few powerheads, 2-3 various power filters that got "retired" when I converted to saltwater, 2 air pumps, and a Red Sea Berlin Airlift countercurrent skimmer that worked fine on my 20g but just didn't cut the mustard on my 55g.

a 10 gallon tank, with sponge filter (our first one that is now a q tank)
50w heater
two air pumps (not really used)
loads of fake plants (left over from tank purchases!)
Lots of food (comes with tanks!)
An old filter
Loads of misc clips, fittings, suction pads, thermometers,.

In fact if we had the space, we wouldn't have any spares - they would be in a set up! :)

Looking at this list, we could have a shop!!

Let's see... I have an extra glass top for my 75g. I have tons of extra medications and chemicals, rocks, plants, Fish foods, and a breeding net.

And a partridge in a pear tree!!!

Naa... I don't have room for the pear tree in my house either! ;) Why you think that 40g isn't doing something useful, eh? ;)

Unfortunately i dont have any spare hardware, being new to this my first tank set-up has cost me enough so i dont have the money to buy spares, but i am sure they will accumulate over time!

I have a spare filter and that's about it. Now that my set-up and stocking are finally complete though I will start collecting other bits and bobs for that unforseen emergency.

Luckily I have a few friends and neighbours who keep fish and members of TFF who live locally enough to lend me a hand if needs be. (Thanks again nightlife20 for the filter media ;) )

The only thing I keep spares of is glass. In 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8". I always find people throwing out aquariums. So I take them and repair them for my own use. 90% of all the tanks I have come from people throwing them out. Some were perfectly good. Others just leaked. Easy repair.

I would be scr*wed!! I have a 14 litre bucket and a small powerhead spare. No spare tank and no space to keep one unfortunately.

As of this evening I will have 3 x 3 foot tanks and 1 x 4 foot tank spare, but that ain't gonna last long!!! (Ooooohhhh, more fishies!!!) I don't have spare hardware sitting in the cupboard, but I have doubles on most of my setups, ie all the juwel tanks have extra eheim filters and ebo jaeger heaters, so if push came to shove I can always nick stuff. Also very handy for instant cycling. :D

Also got a cupboard full of meds, spare air hose and clips, full set of spare filter media for everything. Also loads of ornaments that I liked at the time but got taken out when I changed tanks around, plastic plants that were included with 2nd hand tanks, loads and loads of bogwood....

I think I need to get busy selling stuff on ebay!!!

Spare tanks up to 55g, spare heaters up to 300w and spare impellers and hose fittings for filters.

I am a bit of a nebie but i keep a box filter running in my tank + spare heater and a bucket. But I am just about to have a 50 litre tank free! :hey:

I have a spare 20G, spare Fluval 3 filter, 100W heater, loadsa decorations, wood n rocks etc and medication.
