What Size Mesh For Java Moss?

As above, I'm going to grow a java moss carpet using mesh... what size holes would be good/suitable? I was thinking 5mm - 1cm but wondered what everyone has used?

Also is the norm tying it on or sandwiching it between two sheets to let it grow through?

Use any sized you want; I'd think both 0.5cm and 1cm would be fine; perhaps the 1cm holes more?

I got hair nets to tie mine down but they hair nets stunk so I tied the moss down with nylon thread (cheaper than fishing line as is reccommended). Some of my "holes" in the thread aer smaller; some are bigger. So long as it all holds down it'll be ok.

I'm in the market for some stainless steel mesh also so if and when you find a vendor/e-shop please let me know. By the way I've been told that the ones found on ebay from Asia maybe advertised as stainless steel but in actual fact are not.
