What Size External Filter,

hi guys, iv currently got the fluval 205 on my cichlid tank, my tank is 4ft long , 1..5 high and 1foot thick, will this still be ok or would a more higher external filter be better,

once iv moved house etc im looking to make a much larger tank in my living room but for now will this do or

Approx 170litres so if I understand it correctly you need a turn over of approx 8-10x per hour for certain cichlids like malawi. So you be looking at 1350 - 1700 lph output. The 205 only has a rating of 630lph so you could possibly double up with the fluval 305 that is 1000lph. That should be enough filteration for malawi cichlids.

What type of cichlids are they ?

im pants with names, i only have 3 males and 5 females right now, (all wild)

the only male i know off is the one below,

the other males are like a dark purple with black stripes and a slight yellow/orange line on the top fin,
