Thanks sylvia i thinlk i will research sparking gouramis, they sound nice.
 
Hmm. Corys are schooling fish, and prefer griups of 6 or more. A group of male guppys and an apple snail would look nice.
 
if you have more than one type of fish in a tank, and even when its single species, and someone lays eggs there is a chance that they will get eaten by something. with a livebearer fish like guppies and endler's, sometimes the parents will eat the fry that are in the tank. it's survival of the fittest- whoever is smart enough to hide in the plants lives and others get eaten. so it is not always necessary for a seperate fry tank, unless of course you would like to raise them, then it is handy.

GUPPIES! In fact, females are often already pregnant when you buy them. If you want them to breed though, I suggest a trio (1 male 2 female) so the male doesn't bug one particular lady too much.... :hey:
