a pair of convict cichlids had babies and i don't know what to do with them. and im expecting another bunch of fry because the male is digging a pit in a secluded spot.

If the fry are very young then the parents may just be planing to move them. The pit may also be a decoy to fool predators. So don't panic just yet. If you want to grow the fry on you will need a separate tank to do so and once they are of salable size, usually about 25mm you may find a retailer(s) who will take them off your hands If you don't want the drama of a repeat performance then it would also be best to take the parents as well (they will be worth more as a breeding pair)
I once had a 4' tank with a pair of Blue acaras that ended up like fish soup with 3 separate generations all breeding at once

Thats normal that they are protecting them. The fry grow faster when left with the parents, and also grow faster if you feed them BBS( Baby Brine Shrimp). I buy Frozen BBS, instead of hatching it myself. The pair will not be worth more if sold as a breeding pair. Most store wont even take them for free, let alone pay you for them.

congrats! how much fry do u think they had, and can u post some pics.

 When you want to buy Convicts, You pay through your neck!!!!.... When you want to sell Convicts,.... No one is interested.

Tbh id use them as feeder fish, Convicts are next to worthless and breed more prolific then guppies xD
