I'v e been browsing ebay and keep getting these nano boxes coming up which look so small. This one is a bit bigger than the rest:

What set up do you guys suggest for one male. I don't want to divide my tank as I'm happy with it as is.

i personally won't keep a Betta in any less than 11l/3Gal as a perminant home, smaller is ok for temperary homes, but thats just my opinion

I've kept a betta in a 2.5 gallon tank, but he didn't seem happy, so I upgraded him into a 5 gallon not long after. He was much more active and seemed happier.

Anything from 2+Gallons is fine in my opinion as long as it's filtered, and heated which I forgot about (cheers Lilfishie)

I do have to say though, Although maybe the size isnt the issue, I think that tank is going to be terrible. I would be very careful with the quality of a tank that cheap. You may find yourself wasting your time,

But as said above, Personally i wouldn't keep a single beta in that, At-least 3gal if you want to enjoy your fish, and not just have it sitting on the spot.

Let us know what you decide :)

Giving a male Betta ideal conditions in a shop is expensive, it's only short term and the cubes are about a gallon a piece, properly filtered and heated, so they pose no real problem at all.

Good choice on not buying my sister had that exact tank and kept killing her fish i banned her from getting anymore !! But a nice 5 gallon would be perfect i currently have three each in a 5 gallon their so active and happy :good:

Well found a baby biorb which is 4 gallons would that be suitable it comes with everything I'd just need to get the heater

Sounds like a good idea :) i love the baby biorbs with shrimp or a beta in :)

I'd suggest lots of plants, if I may?

Not only will they help with the water condition, but especially in a small tank, a betta needs some interest and things to swim around and between.

Such curious and intelligent fish...

Do you think the baby biorb isn't good enough? Be honest please. I was gonna dec it out nice with plants and stuff and he was gonna go right next to my other tank so he could see the other fish. Are my ideas no good?

I've got a male Plakat that was originally believed to be female! I have had to pull him out of my female tank and he is now in temporary housing until I can get him a new home. I am planning to get him a baby biorb too, and have been told that these make a suitable home for a betta boy :good:

I'd be interested to know other people's opinions too
