I've read on websites that people use aquarium salt, sea salt, kitchen salt! ... and loads more! :p Kitchen salt doesnt sound good to me, at all. In the pinned topic it says not to use aquarium salt either ... leaving me sea/marine salt. However, I cant find that around here. I have found "pond salt" though, however I'm guessing this wont do. I however would like some answers if it might work or not ... the fish I'm planning on getting are often found in freshwater, so I'm guessing Slightly brackish will be fine for them

To keep brackish fish you should use marine salt, aquarium salt does not contain the same essential minerals found in brackish and marine enviroments.
If you are just keeping livebearers such as mollies, platties and swordtails and want to add a little salt to help them breed more easily then aquarium salt will be fine.
