Escellant! Im convinced its helped my corals and the micro life in my system. the sump alone is infested with micro life and im sure the plankton in the natural water plays animportant part in this

Thats what i thought, but i've had alot of mixed opinions about this. Some people say i must let the water sit for a couple days in the dark to let plankton and all the rest die off, others say i gotta get it in asap. But i just do it, works like a charm, perfect salanity and ph everytime! cant go wrong, and you get all the hich-hickers aswell, which is

NEVER allow the seawater to stand for more than a few hours IMO. artificial salt water can be left in buckets for quite some time before using as long as its kept airtight etc. This is a great bonus for artifiicial salt. However NSW is the opposite. the plankton dies off fast if not added to a tank and this riuns the water. I simply get the water and add it right away, luvkily the large volume of water i have is not effected by the temperature difference soi can get away with it. Waiting for it to raise in temperature would take too long IMO.

i would think everyone would like real ocean water the best.

I'd be too nervous to collect pollutants along with the water. Plus the gulf coast of Florida gets Red Tide outbreaks every so often. Id hate to collect the water just before that cycle kicks in. Although I believe the actual fish kill happens pretty far offshore.

And you sure dont want to collect any water near or in Tampa Bay.

I live near galveston that water is so dirty its not even funny :( the water is as blackish green you can imagine its pretty sad what people are putting in it so artifial salt is millions times better than galvestons (Gulf of Mexico) water

not if you go 80 or so miles offshore, the water is so chrystal blue, sometimes you can see the bottom. the only problem is the time getting the water back to shore, load the boat in the harbor and 2 hour drive back to houston. so it's not reasonable but ive done it once.

yah if u go all the way offshore into the reef out there but what they put in the water is some pretty gross stuff. :(
