They are a gold variant of normal German blue rams.

Are these ones you've bought as Bolivians?

Coincidentally I was admiring some golds in the fish shop today and they were...well gold (actually more yellowy). These just look like undercoloured standard GBR's?

To be fair I'm on my phone and the pic is quite small to me, so they could just be wishy washy regular rams.

The colour variation is irrelevant though really, they're not Bolivians and they have different requirements to Bolivians, so I'd be taking them back and not shopping there again if they can't even identify the difference between the two.

Ah right cheers. I plan on keeping them. Its only them 2 in a 110l tank hope thats not to small now??

Tank size is fine. I'm unclear though, do you have them with two original Bolivian rams as well?

Ow no i brought these 2 thinking thery where bolivion rams. so these are the only 2 i have. Both females aswell i think as they both have pinkish red stomachs

Ah right ok, just saying "I went in and purchased 2 bolivion rams a week ago" threw me a bit.

Read up on these guys though, they can be a bit picky. They like quite warm water, more around 28c, and preferably soft and acidic water.

Yes I also think you have two females.

Yeah i got it set at 28 quite heavily planted with some caves would it be ok adding 2 males??
Ill try to lower the p.h as its at 7

Are they the only fish in the tank?

Caves are good, a few lumps of bogwood will help with the ph and provide natural nooks and crannies.

Do you WANT to try and breed them? Cos otherwise two females will be much the same as having an non-breeding male and female pair. Adding a male or two is no guarantee of getting a breeding pair and you might get a few clashes. Up to you though.

They may still get more colour as they become more comfortable in your tank!
