Bristlenose Plecs are widely available, stay small and devour alagae, great fish. They are also very hardy, which is not the case with many of the smaller Plec species.
I'll ask the LFS for them when I visit them for supplies... Meanwhile, what am I going to do with my plec? They're about an inch long now, from nose to tip of tail...
The LFS don't want to take them back, for some reason. But just for comfirmation, I might hijack my mom's digicam and post a pic just to be really really really sure that is a common plec...
Can you try another LFS? your fish are almost certainly common's or sailfin's and need to be re-homed. Do you have a friend with a big tank who would want them?
It will be ok if you cant find another good home for it.....I can think of far smaller tanks that a fully grown plec has been in, 50 inches will provide a wide enough tank.... As long as your filtration is up to it.
